Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources hosting the Smart Media Platform Workshop by Sharjah Government Media Bureau

22 May, 2019

Sharjah Directorate of Human Resoures hosted the “Smart Media Platform” workshop, organised by Sharjah Government Media Bureau, as part of its training workshops aiming at familiarising Sharjah entities and establishments on how to use the smart media platform. It is the first project of its kind in the region, having the objective to consolidate the principles of media work in the Emirate, build excellent media skills and enhance the level of media discourse with the public.

The workshop was held at the Directorate’s headquarters in Al Dafin, where the employees of the Government Communication Department were trained on the use of the various sections of the smart platform, including the smart media publisher, smart media monitor and the media centre.
The platform will be widely used by the government entities and establishments where they may publish their news easily to make it available to media professionals. It also contributes to the organisation of internal electronic archiving, news publishing management, smart media monitoring and photos library.
The Directorate has been keen to train its employees on how to use the platform as it believes in the complementary role of all the entities and establishments in shaping a civilised and vivid media image of the Emirate, and their unified responsibility for strengthening the integrated media structure of the Government of Sharjah.

The platform also contributes to the quick control of media crises as it constitutes an integrated network of government departments and media means. It also uses artificial intelligence in the media work, and this is a new trend led by the Emirate of Sharjah to serve as an example in the management and oganisation of media work inspired by the future technological trends.
